
Deoghar. In a bid to curb the rising incidents of cyber crime in the district, Deoghar Police has intensified its cyber awareness campaign in rural areas. Following the direction of SP Praveen Pushkar, a special cyber awareness programme was organised on Friday at Kapsa Pindari village under Sarath police station limits.
The main objective of the programme was to make villagers aware of cyber fraud and to send a strong message that Deoghar Police is fully committed to taking strict action against cyber criminals. During the programme, police officials appealed to residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to suspicious cyber activities.
Police officials informed the gathering that stringent legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in cyber crime. It was also stated that property seizure proceedings would be initiated against organised cyber criminals. Along with this, those providing shelter or support to cyber offenders would also face legal action.Villagers were educated about the cyber helpline number 1930 and were advised to report any online fraud or suspicious financial transaction immediately. Police personnel also urged residents to remain alert while using mobile phones, banking applications and social media platforms.The awareness programme was attended by Sarath police station in-charge Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar Sah along with armed forces and police personnel. Local representatives and villagers welcomed the initiative and assured full cooperation to police in the fight against cyber crime.
