
Deoghar: Municipal Corporation Mayor Ravi Kumar Raut carried out a surprise inspection in the Jasidih area on Friday to review cleanliness, non-functional street lights and drinking water supply arrangements. During the visit, he toured the main roads of Jasidih market and expressed displeasure over heaps of garbage and the poor condition of drains at several places.Taking a strict stand on sanitation issues, the Mayor directed sanitation supervisors to ensure daily lifting of garbage on time. He warned that action would be taken against employees found negligent in their duties.During the inspection, several street lights on roads were found non-functional. The Mayor instructed electricity department officials to repair all faulty street lights at the earliest. He also reviewed the drinking water supply system and the pipeline network in the area. Officials were directed to ensure that clean drinking water reaches every household and that pipeline connections are extended to areas left uncovered.The Mayor said providing better basic amenities to the people of Deoghar and Jasidih is the top priority of the Municipal Corporation. He stated that no compromise would be tolerated in cleanliness, water supply and electricity services.Municipal Manager Satish Das, local representative Sandeep Vishwakarma, councillor representative Rajan Singh, Mrityunjay Raut, along with local traders and residents, were present during the inspection.
