Flawless Arrangements Must Be Ensured at Jasidih Station for Devotees During Shravani Mela: DC

Deoghar:Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh on Saturday conducted a detailed inspection of Jasidih Railway Station to review preparations for the upcoming State Shravani Mela 2026. The inspection focused on ensuring safety, convenience, and smooth crowd management for lakhs of devotees expected to arrive in Deoghar during the annual pilgrimage.
During the visit, the DC inspected entry and exit gates, railway platforms, and the circulating area of the station. He directed railway officials to prepare a strong crowd management plan to prevent congestion and avoid any untoward incidents during the mela period. He emphasized that Jasidih Railway Station serves as the main gateway for pilgrims visiting Baba Baidyanath Dham and therefore all arrangements must remain efficient and error-free.
The DC also reviewed the availability of drinking water, cleanliness of toilets, and the condition of waiting halls and rest areas. Considering the expected heat and humidity during the mela, he instructed officials to ensure adequate arrangements of fans, coolers, and proper lighting within the station premises. He further directed that all facilities at temporary shelters and holding areas for devotees should be completed well before the mela begins.To assist passengers during the mela, the DC instructed the Information and Public Relations Department to strengthen the 24x7 help desk and public announcement system. Directions were also issued for the deployment of temporary medical camps and ambulances at the station premises to handle emergencies effectively.Special emphasis was laid on CCTV surveillance and better coordination between the Railway Protection Force and district police to maintain security and smooth operations throughout the mela period.After the inspection, DC Shashi Prakash Singh said that the administration’s goal is to ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasant experience for every devotee visiting Deoghar during the Shravani Mela.
