Jerusalem — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out extensive strikes on positions linked to Hezbollah, hitting around 120 targets in southern Lebanon.
According to the IDF, the operation involved coordinated airstrikes on what it described as militant infrastructure, including headquarters, weapons storage facilities, and other operational sites. The military stated that approximately 70 structures used for military purposes and around 50 additional infrastructure points were destroyed.
The IDF also reported eliminating militants operating near its forces and said its air force destroyed a launcher that was allegedly primed to fire rockets into Israeli territory.
Tensions appear to be escalating again, with the IDF accusing Hezbollah of violating ceasefire understandings. It added that multiple rockets and explosive drones had been launched toward Israeli positions in southern Lebanon, some landing close to operational areas.
Israeli air defenses reportedly intercepted several incoming threats, including rockets and two aerial targets before they could enter Israeli airspace.
In a separate update, the IDF said that over the past week, joint operations with security forces in the West Bank region led to the arrest of more than 80 individuals suspected of militant activity or support. Authorities also seized a range of weapons, including improvised firearms, rifles, pistols, drones, and explosive materials.
Those detained have been handed over to security agencies for further investigation, while confiscated weapons are undergoing forensic processing.
The developments underscore rising volatility in the region, with cross-border exchanges and military actions continuing to intensify.
