Sanjay Seth meets Jaishankar, seeks early repatriation of Raja Kumar Verma’s mortal remains

Efforts have been stepped up to bring back the mortal remains of yoga teacher Raja Kumar Verma, who died in a road accident in Vietnam. Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and requested his intervention to expedite the repatriation process.

During the meeting, Seth briefed Jaishankar about the family's situation and the difficulties they are facing following Verma's death. He said the family wants to bring his mortal remains back to India so that the last rites can be performed in his home country.

Seth requested the External Affairs Ministry to coordinate with the concerned officials in India and Vietnam to complete the necessary formalities at the earliest. He also sought faster processing of the documentation required to repatriate the body.

Seth said the family was already going through an extremely difficult period and urged that the necessary procedures be completed as smoothly and quickly as possible to reduce the burden on the bereaved relatives.

Jaishankar assured Seth that the Ministry of External Affairs would extend all possible assistance in the matter. Efforts are underway to coordinate with the relevant authorities and facilitate the repatriation of Verma's mortal remains.

According to sources familiar with the matter, authorities are making efforts to ensure that Verma's body reaches India before Saturday.

Following the External Affairs Minister's assurance, the family has expressed hope that the mortal remains of their loved one will be brought back to India soon.
