Recruitment Reform Yatra Reaches Giridih on Day Three, Devendra Nath Mahto Accuses Government of Betraying Youth

The Recruitment Reform Yatra, being organised under the banner of the JPSC-JSSC Candidates Justice Forum to demand changes in the recruitment system and greater protection of students' interests, reached Giridih on its third day after passing through Chatra and Koderma districts.

The day's programme began with prayers at the Maa Bhadrakali Temple in Itkhori. The organisers then held public-awareness programmes at Dehar, Chauparan, Batbigha, Urwan and Barhi, seeking to mobilise students and young people around the demand for a transparent and reliable recruitment system.

In Koderma, participants organised a march through Subhash Chowk, Jhanda Mor and Maharana Pratap Chowk. Public meetings and awareness programmes were subsequently held at Domchanch, Ghodthambha and Gorimahua in Giridih district.

Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who is leading the yatra, accused the state government of failing Jharkhand's youth. He alleged that repeated controversies surrounding recruitment examinations have undermined the confidence of candidates and created uncertainty over their careers.

Mahto said the government must take concrete steps to establish a transparent recruitment process and ensure accountability wherever irregularities are found. He said the movement would continue until candidates receive assurance that recruitment examinations will be conducted fairly and that their future interests will be protected.

Yatra Aims to Build Pressure for Recruitment Reforms

The Recruitment Reform Yatra began from Nemra in Ramgarh district, which is known as the birthplace of JMM leader Shibu Soren. Through the campaign, organisers are travelling across different districts to interact directly with students, job aspirants and their families.

The organisers are using public meetings, marches and awareness programmes to explain their demands and build wider support for reforms in the recruitment system. The campaign is also seeking to keep recruitment-related issues in public focus amid continuing concerns among candidates over examination procedures and transparency.

The yatra is scheduled to enter Deoghar district on Thursday.

Devendra Nath Mahto, Manoj Yadav, Akanksha Kumari, Krishna Yadav, Meghnath Mahto, Chandan Kumar and a large number of students and parents participated in the day's programmes.

The campaign reflects the growing demand among Jharkhand's young job aspirants for a recruitment system that is transparent, predictable and capable of conducting examinations without controversies or prolonged uncertainty.
