
Deoghar:A high-level meeting on sanitation, garbage collection and waste management in the Municipal Corporation area was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner expressed strong displeasure over the prevailing sanitation condition in the city and pulled up officials of the Municipal Solid Waste Management agency over their lax functioning. He directed them to immediately improve their work system and ensure visible results on the ground.The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to focus not only on regular garbage lifting from major chowks and intersections, but also on ensuring proper waste collection in every ward of the city. He asked the concerned departments to strengthen ward-wise route charts and operational plans so that garbage collection is carried out systematically and on time across all areas. Emphasising the need for better coordination, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Municipal Commissioner and the Director of MSWM to work in close coordination for effective implementation of sanitation measures. He said only better coordination among officials would ensure timely and proper garbage lifting in all wards of the Municipal Corporation area. He also made it clear that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.
The administration further directed officials to carry out regular cross-verification to monitor whether garbage is being lifted properly from each ward apart from major public locations. Accountability of concerned officials will also be fixed to ensure effective sanitation management across the city.
Among those present in the meeting were Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar, Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Rohit Sinha, Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar, officials of MSWM, Assistant Municipal Commissioners, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi, City Managers and other officials and staff members of the concerned departments.
