Songs, poetry, dance and creative activities highlight the love, sacrifice and affection of mothers

Deoghar. Geeta Devi DAV Public School, Bhandarkola celebrated International Mother’s Day with a colourful and emotional programme on the school campus. The event aimed to highlight the importance of motherhood and inspire students to express respect, gratitude and love towards their mothers.The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Principal Mohammad Mustafa Majid. Students from Classes 8 to 12 presented soulful songs dedicated to mothers, filling the atmosphere with emotion and warmth. A mime performance based on a mother’s sacrifice deeply touched the audience, while vibrant dance performances added charm and enthusiasm to the celebration.Students also recited heartfelt poems in honour of mothers. Their emotional presentations left parents and teachers moved. LKG students expressed their feelings by colouring pictures of mothers. Class 1 students prepared bouquets, Class 2 students made handmade purses, while students from Classes 3 to 5 designed collages and greeting cards dedicated to motherhood. Students from Classes 5 to 7 also presented melodious songs to mark the occasion.Addressing the gathering, Principal Mohammad Mustafa Majid said that mothers are the first teachers in life and their contribution cannot be described in words. He encouraged students to always respect their parents and follow their ideals. Appreciating the performances, he said such programmes help develop values, sensitivity and family bonding among children.Teachers Abhishek Surya, Nisha Kiran, Deepika Sinha, Neelam Chaudhary, Raj Rani, Meenu Chaudhary, Kartik Raj, Urvashi Vats, Sangeeta Banerjee and Nidhi, along with class teachers from LKG to Class 2 and students, played an important role in making the programme successful. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a peace prayer. Media in-charge Abhishek Surya shared the information.
