Ramgarh: A surprise inspection by Deputy Commissioner Rituraj at Plus Two High School, Dimra, in Gola block exposed serious shortcomings in the district’s education system. Concerned about falling educational standards, the Deputy Commissioner personally reviewed the school’s functioning and found multiple lapses in administration, infrastructure, and teaching arrangements.
The inspection revealed poor sanitation across the school campus, with unclean surroundings and improperly maintained records and registers. The Deputy Commissioner strongly criticized the negligence and instructed school authorities to ensure regular cleaning and timely updating of official documents.
Basic educational facilities including the laboratory, smart classroom, library, and toilets were found non-functional. Observing that these deficiencies were negatively affecting students, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to submit a written explanation within one week and restore all facilities without delay.
Highlighting the need for quality education, he stated that schools must focus not only on attendance but also on effective classroom teaching and a healthy academic environment. Officials were directed to ensure regular classes and adequate learning resources for students.
During the inspection, several teachers handling Classes 1 to 8 were absent without prior notice. Taking strict action, the Deputy Commissioner ordered an immediate freeze on the salaries of nine teachers.
The school kitchen and midday meal arrangements were also found below satisfactory standards. Authorities were instructed to improve cleanliness and maintain proper hygiene in food preparation and distribution.
Deputy Commissioner Rituraj warned that any negligence in the education sector would invite strict action. He also raised concerns over the role of the Block Education Extension Officer and directed education department officials to conduct regular inspections and improve accountability.
Earlier, the district administration had already sought explanations from 64 schools over poor examination results and declining educational performance.
