Ramgarh Administration Intensifies Efforts to Ensure Water Supply Amid Rising Heat

Following the state government’s directives and keeping the extreme summer conditions in mind, the Ramgarh district administration has launched a major initiative to ensure an uninterrupted water supply in both urban and rural areas. A district-level task force has been formed to monitor and repair water supply systems on a daily basis.

As part of the campaign, a “Special Water Fortnight Camp” is being organized across the district from May 2 to May 15, 2026. So far, 132 water supply sources have been repaired, including 100 hand pumps, 28 water towers, one water tanker, and three other water supply schemes.

To strengthen water supply in urban areas, the Ramgarh Municipal Council has been appointed as the executing agency. Administrative approval of Rs 23.38 lakh has been granted under the DMFT fund for the repair of 19 water towers. In rural areas, approval worth Rs 92.27 lakh has been sanctioned for the repair of 626 hand pumps.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rituraj has appealed to village heads and public representatives to actively participate in the camps and inform the administration about water-related problems in their respective areas so that quick action can be taken.

Under the ongoing campaign, 287 hand pumps and 166 water towers have been identified for repairs. Out of these, repairs of 100 hand pumps and 28 water towers have already been completed, while work on the remaining units is underway. Camps have so far been conducted in 45 panchayats and eight municipal wards.

The district administration has also released control room contact numbers for public assistance regarding water supply issues. Residents can contact officials on 8409209569, 6204213661, 6205523266, and 9798458570. The office landline number 06553-223193 and Municipal Council helpline 9939476661 have also been made available.
