Youth suffers high-voltage shock at Tatanagar station

Jamshedpur: Panic gripped Tatanagar Railway Station late Tuesday night after a youth climbed atop a stationary freight train and came into contact with an overhead high-voltage wire, leaving him critically injured.According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at around 11:10 PM on Platform No. 3, when the youth suddenly climbed onto the goods train. Within moments, he was struck by the overhead electric line and suffered severe burn injuries.

Passengers and railway staff immediately alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and station authorities. Acting swiftly, the injured youth was rushed to the railway hospital with the help of a Tata Life ambulance. After receiving initial treatment, doctors referred him to MGM Hospital due to his critical condition.The shocking incident triggered chaos at the station for some time, as concerned passengers gathered and emergency responders rushed to the spot. 

The RPF has launched an investigation into the matter and is reviewing CCTV footage to determine how the youth accessed the train and what led to the dangerous act.Preliminary reports suggest the possibility that the youth may be mentally unstable, although no official confirmation has been made.Efforts are underway to identify him and trace his family members.Railway authorities have once again urged passengers to refrain from climbing stationary trains, warning that overhead high-voltage wires pose a constant and potentially fatal risk.
