Mumbai - Actress Kritika Kamra has revealed that her favourite beauty trend from the 1960s and 1970s is the iconic “curtain bangs” hairstyle, which she sported while shooting for the series Matka King.
Speaking about vintage fashion and beauty inspirations, Kritika shared that she has always admired the aesthetic of the ’60s and ’70s. She said the curtain bangs look became one of her personal favourites during the filming of the show and she continued carrying the hairstyle into another project with a different styling approach.
The actress also clarified that she does not usually follow trends blindly and chooses looks that genuinely suit her personality and appearance. While she enjoyed experimenting with curtain bangs, she admitted that she would probably never go for a full fringe hairstyle.
Kritika said her hairstyle inspiration came from late Hollywood actress Farrah Fawcett and legendary Bollywood star Parveen Babi. According to her, the soft fringe added a romantic and feminine touch to her overall look.
She added that curtain bangs have a unique charm that can make the face appear softer, more romantic and cute, which is why she enjoyed the trend so much.
Earlier this week, the makers of Matka King officially announced its second season. The series stars Vijay Varma as a fictional gambling kingpin running a vast matka network across Mumbai.
Set in post-independence Mumbai, the show follows the journey of a cotton trader who introduces the illegal matka gambling game and gradually builds a powerful underground empire. The series explores themes of crime, ambition, politics and social transformation.
