
Mumbai — Actor Mihir Ahuja has opened up about being part of Netflix’s upcoming war drama series Operation Safed Sagar, describing it as a moving tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Indian Air Force personnel during the 1999 Kargil War.
The series is based on the Indian Air Force’s intense 47-day mission carried out during the Kargil conflict and aims to highlight the bravery and resilience of the armed forces.
Speaking about his role, Mihir said, “Operation Safed Sagar is not just a story, it’s a tribute to the bravery, sacrifice and spirit of our Air Force heroes. Playing a young Air Force pilot has been one of the most special and humbling experiences for me.”
He added that portraying an Air Force officer came with a deep sense of responsibility and also gave him valuable insights throughout the journey.
“There’s a certain sense of responsibility that comes with portraying someone from the Indian Air Force, and I’ve learned so much through this journey. It’s a project that will always stay very close to my heart,” the actor shared.
The series features a strong ensemble cast including Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Adil Hussain and Taaruk Raina alongside Mihir.
The show has been created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar, Mehboob PS Brar and Kushal Srivastava, while Oni Sen serves as the director.
Mihir first gained major attention for playing Jughead Jones in The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar. He later appeared in Made in Heaven Season 2 as Dhruv Jauhari.
The actor has also featured in the Australian film Hindi Vindi alongside Neena Gupta and appeared in the anthology series Feels Like Ishq.
Mihir made his Hindi film debut with Super 30 starring Hrithik Roshan.
He was last seen in Maa Ka Sum, directed by Nicholas Kharkongor and co-starring Mona Singh and Angira Dhar.
