Rukmini Vasanth condemns circulation of fake AI-generated images, plans legal action

Mumbai- Actress Rukmini Vasanth has strongly condemned the circulation of AI-generated fake images falsely claiming to depict her, stating that her team is initiating legal and cybercrime action against those responsible.

Taking to social media, the actress issued an official statement clarifying that the viral images are “completely fake and fabricated” and described the misuse of artificial intelligence as a serious invasion of privacy.

“My team and I have come across certain AI-generated images being circulated online claiming to be me. I want to state clearly that these images are entirely fake and fabricated. The creation and circulation of such manipulated content is deeply irresponsible and a serious violation of privacy,” she wrote.

Rukmini further revealed that strict action is being taken against those involved in creating and sharing the content.

“We are taking this matter seriously and initiating the necessary legal and cybercrime action against those involved in creating and spreading these images. Requesting everyone to refrain from sharing or engaging with such content,” the actress added.

In recent years, several actors and public figures from the Indian film industry have voiced concerns over the growing misuse of AI technology and digitally altered content on social media platforms.

Rukmini, who gained nationwide recognition with the blockbuster film Kantara, has steadily built a strong presence in the South Indian film industry.

Earlier, during an interaction with IANS, the actress had spoken about her interest in exploring opportunities in Hindi cinema. She had said she would be open to working in Bollywood if the right project came along and even expressed admiration for Dharma Productions.

“Absolutely. Dharma films have been cornerstones of what we think of as classic cinema. If I get the opportunity, absolutely, I would never say never,” she had said.

The actress also shared that while she does not maintain a specific wishlist of filmmakers or actors, she remains excited about exploring meaningful opportunities across industries.
