Ranchi — Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday handed over appointment letters to 299 newly recruited personnel under the state’s Women, Child Development and Social Security Department at a function held at the Secretariat.
The appointments include 62 Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and 237 women supervisors, marking a significant recruitment drive after a long gap in the department.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described the recruitment as a crucial step toward strengthening welfare delivery in the state. He expressed confidence that the new appointees would carry out their duties with dedication and sensitivity, ensuring that government schemes reach people effectively at the grassroots level.
Highlighting the importance of women’s participation in Jharkhand’s development, Soren said the recruitment process was carried out with a focus on addressing women-centric issues. He also pointed to malnutrition as a major concern and called for collective efforts to tackle it, urging the newly appointed officers to actively contribute to making the state malnutrition-free.
The Chief Minister noted that several remote areas in Jharkhand still lack access to basic facilities and stressed the need to prioritise the delivery of welfare schemes in such regions.
Emphasising transparency and coordination within the administration, he said better synergy among officials would lead to faster and more efficient implementation of government initiatives. To support field-level work, mobile phones and tablets have been provided to women workers at block and village levels.
Congratulating the candidates, Soren wished them success in their roles and encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to society and the state’s progress.
The event was attended by Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Department Secretary Uma Shankar Singh, Director Kiran Kumar Pasi, along with senior officials and family members of the newly appointed personnel.
