Our entire focus is on speeding up the pace of execution of schemes: Hemant Soren

Latehar: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the entire focus of his government is on speeding up the pace of execution of schemes so that people can get their benefits. 

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the New Police Lines here he said that the year 2023 is the year of “implementation of plans” therefore the entire focus is to speed up the pace of the schemes and the progress of the schemes is being continuously monitored so that plans actually land on the ground and projects should be completed at the right time.

He said that common people should get full benefits of all the schemes for that Officers and employees have an important role in this. He asked them to fulfill their responsibilities with honesty otherwise the government will be forced to take action against them.

The Chief Minister said that the government has a huge army of government employees and it spends a major part of the budget on their salaries but even after this, if the pace of the schemes is slow and people do not get the benefit of the schemes then it will not be appropriate to pay salary to them for just sitting. That is why the officers should understand their responsibilities and being the implementing authority they should take the schemes from village to village and pave the way for the development of the state. 

He said that during the review meeting, figures are fudged by the officials to show achievements but today the information system has become very strong now in the review meetings, along with the statistics he will also see the photos related to it so that the real situation can be known.

Issuing the warning to the officers the Chief Minister said that thousands of people apply to them regarding their problems and If strict action is taken on the applications, many officers-employees will face the heat so they should not play the numbers game but focus on the plans to realise on the ground. 

The Chief Minister said that the geographical condition of Jharkhand is different and according to the nature of the people here the officers here need to work with full sensitivity and action. Even after two decades have passed since the formation of a separate Jharkhand state, if the government could not fulfill even the basic needs of the people in any village-panchayat or area, then it is a matter of concern for the entire state along with the government. He told the officials that what they have written in the paper should be seen in reality.

Hemant Soren clearly told the officers that if there is any confusion regarding any scheme, then immediately they should inform the senior officers at the district or headquarters level, so that it can be resolved. He said that he would not like to hear further that due to confusion the schemes are pending and people are deprived of its benefits. The Chief Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners of both districts to regularly monitor the schemes.

The Chief Minister said that there are many such schemes of the government, which can be implemented by many departments by coordinating with each other. For this, the departments should coordinate among themselves and leave no stone unturned in putting the schemes on the ground.

He expressed strong displeasure over the incomplete construction work of the bridge over the river which was being constructed since 2016 on the way to New Police Line in Latehar town.
