JMM celebrates 51st foundation day: CM Hemant says he represents Adivasis and Moolvasis not traders

Dhanbad: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that, unlike the BJP which represents the traders and corporate houses he was a representative of the Adivasis, moolvasis dalits and minorities of Jharkhand.

Addressing the 51st foundation day celebrations of the JMM at the iconic Golf Grounds here he said that while on one hand, he is worried about ensuring food in the stomach of the people of Jharkhand the others were busy filling their own pockets. 

In his address, he said that BJP is the home of traders and when he brings the domicile policy based on the Khatiyaan of 1932 it is declared unconstitutional and wondered as to why when the state government makes a law for giving the rights to the Adivasis and Moolvasis why people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh start getting a stomach ache.

He said that outsiders get troubled when laws are framed in the favour of the moolvasis of the state. He said that 20 people went to court against the law which was framed by the state government so the law could get cancelled and out of those 19 hailed from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

He asked the large crowd present at the venue as to whether the children from the state should get priority in jobs or not. Hemant Soren said that when the Jharkhand government makes law it is declared unconstitutional but when a similar type of law is made in Karnataka the Governor of that state sends the same to New Delhi but it is the opposite in the context of Jharkhand. 

The chief minister held the central government responsible for the strike of contractual ANMs, Sahiyas and other health workers in the state. “The Central government has left you in the lurch. But the state government is concerned with your( agitating ANM, health staff) problems and will do the needful in this regard soon,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that the opposition party (BJP) has a double standard policy. In Gujarat where it is in power makes a Gujarati chief minister, in Maharashtra, it makes a Maharashtrian as chief minister and in Bihar a Bihari chief minister. But in Jharkhand it instals non-Jharkhandi, he pointed out.

He said now a Jharkhandi ( Hemant Soren) has become chief minister, the opposition party is trying to remove by levelling false charges and hatching a conspiracy. But as long as the Shibu Soren family is alive, no nefarious design of the opposition party in Jharkhand would be allowed to succeed, he said. JMM supremo Shibu Soren also addressed the rally and called upon to focus on education and agriculture.

Since the chief minister reached Dhanbad around 2.50 hours behind schedule only JMM MP Mahua Majhi, Tundi MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto and Giridih MLA Sudivya Kumar were allowed to address the rally
