ATS Probes Alleged Pakistan Link in Noida Workers’ Protest Violence

Noida: The investigation into the recent violent workers’ protests in Noida has intensified, with the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) stepping in after initial findings hinted at a possible foreign connection, including suspected links to Pakistan.

Authorities are now examining the incident from multiple angles after what began as a workers’ protest escalated into widespread violence. Several areas witnessed vandalism, arson involving vehicles, and damage to public property, prompting a major response from police and administrative officials to restore order.

Investigators believe the unrest may not have been entirely spontaneous. Early indications suggest the possibility of a pre-planned attempt to incite disruption, potentially using digital platforms to amplify tensions and provoke violence.

A key focus of the ATS probe is the role of social media—particularly accounts on X—that allegedly circulated inflammatory content during the protests. These accounts are suspected of spreading rumours and misinformation aimed at mobilising crowds and escalating the situation.

According to sources, some of these accounts show activity patterns and technical markers indicating they may have been operated from outside India, raising concerns about cross-border involvement. Digital forensics teams are now analysing IP logs, network trails, and data patterns to trace their origins and assess any links to organised groups or hostile networks.

Officials have made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible for instigating or participating in the violence. The probe remains ongoing, with agencies expecting further developments as more digital and on-ground evidence is examined.
