New Delhi- Tech giant Apple is set to roll out software security updates more quickly as the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) enables cybercriminals to create more sophisticated hacking tools, according to media reports.
The company said it will begin releasing several software patches earlier instead of waiting to bundle them into major iOS updates, allowing users to receive critical security fixes much sooner.
The move is aimed at reducing the time gap between the public disclosure of security vulnerabilities and the delivery of patches, limiting the opportunity for attackers to exploit known weaknesses. As AI continues to speed up the creation of malicious cyber tools, Apple believes faster deployment of security updates has become increasingly important.
Traditionally, the company has included many security fixes as part of larger iOS releases. Before those updates reach users, developers and beta testers spend weeks identifying and resolving bugs during the testing phase.

However, Apple said the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape has prompted it to revise this strategy by issuing security-focused updates independently, rather than waiting for the next full operating system release.
The company also clarified that it has found no evidence suggesting any of the recently patched vulnerabilities have been actively exploited.
Separately, Apple has increased prices for select MacBook and iPad models following a sharp rise in memory and storage chip costs. The surge has been driven by growing demand for semiconductors from AI data centres and cloud computing providers, making it difficult for the company to continue absorbing higher component costs.
