Hemant says will do away with practice of Guard of Honor

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that he will soon do away with the practice of according guard of honor to the Chief Minister during his visits so that the policemen instead of working for the VIP culture rather devote their time for the well being of the people.

On January 2 the Chief Minister with his entire family had reached Rajrappa located in Ramgarh district to offer obeisance at Maa Chinmastika temple where he was given a guard of honor. Later a photograph went viral in which he was shown taking the guard of honor wearing slippers.

After the photograph went viral the Chief Minister wrote on his Facebook page that some people are looking at the picture from his simplicity point of view while others are claiming that by taking the guard of honor on slippers he had not respected the traditions.

But the truth is that the jawans of the police were waiting for him in the rain for long therefore he decided that it was important for him to first make them free. The post of the Chief Minister had received lots of praise on social media and the post has received more than 6.5k comments and more than 3k shares.
