Deoghar: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday announced the BJP’s ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’ campaign, accusing the Congress and other opposition parties of spreading misinformation and creating unrest in the country.

Addressing a press conference in Deoghar, Das criticised the INDIA bloc’s ‘Save Vote, Save Country’ rally held in Delhi on November 1. He alleged that the Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party were misleading the public with the support of foreign forces.

Das also accused the Congress of promoting dynastic politics and claimed that the Narendra Modi-led government had accomplished more in 12 years than the Congress had during its 60 years in power.

On allegations of irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the former Chief Minister accused opposition parties of misleading voters by raising concerns over the deletion of 13 crore names. He also referred to statements made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue.

As part of the campaign, the BJP will organise a rally in Dumka on November 5. Former minister Randhir Singh said a similar programme would be held in Deoghar after the Dumka rally, followed by a public outreach campaign.

Das also targeted the Hemant Soren government over an alleged attempted rape of a woman in the Gamharia area of Jamshedpur. Criticising the state government's handling of women's safety, he demanded the Chief Minister's resignation. He claimed that nearly 10,000 crimes against women had been reported during the government's seven-year tenure.

Former Deoghar MLA Narayan Das, former Sarath MLA Randhir Singh, BJP Deoghar district president Sachin Rawani, Sachin Sultaniya and several other party leaders and workers were present at the press conference.
