Deoghar: In an initiative to promote women’s empowerment and economic independence, the Inner Wheel Club of Deoghar on Tuesday gifted a pink e-rickshaw to Asha Singh to help her establish a sustainable source of livelihood.

Deputy Mayor Teep Chatterjee, along with guests Rita Chaurasia and Dr K. Pallavi, jointly handed over the keys to Singh. The project was sponsored by Maa Lalita Devi Vidya Vihar Sansthan and aims to help the beneficiary earn a dignified living.

Club president Dr Mamta Kiran said women’s empowerment goes beyond providing support and requires creating opportunities and ensuring access to resources that enable women to become financially independent. She added that an economically self-reliant woman contributes to the well-being and stability of her entire family.

Club secretary Arpana Sinha, ISO Archana Sinha, treasurer Chandraprabha and several other members were present at the programme. The club expressed gratitude to the sponsoring institution and everyone who contributed to making the initiative possible.
