Saryu Rai writes to Chief Secretary claiming important files are being burnt, BJP demands probe

Ranchi: Former cabinet minister Saryu Rai who grabbed the national headlines after defeating Chief Minister Raghubar Das in the assembly elections has claimed that important files of many departments are being burnt.

In a letter written to Chief Secretary DK Tiwari he said that his faithful sources have informed him that in the selected files in the CID and Special branch related to complaints filed officially and unofficially are being burnt.

Mr Rai alleged that similar acts were happening in the road construction, power and the home department. He demanded that a lock should be tied outside the Chief Minister’s Secretariat unless the New Chief Minister takes
over.

He also claimed that some of the officials of the concerned department are also taking the files to their homes, therefore, special attention should be given on these departments and the CMOs are important documents are
being destroyed.

On the other hand, state BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo has demanded for a high-level probe into the allegations levelled by Mr Rai. He said that if any official is found guilty than immediate FIR should be registered and legal action should be taken but if the allegations are found to be incorrect than also the Chief Secretary should take necessary action.
