JMM asks Saryu Rai to stand with the people for the cause of Jharkhand

Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has asked Food and Civil Supplies Minister of the state and senior BJP leader Saryu Rai to stand with the people in the decisive battle for Jharkhand.

Addressing a press conference here JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that it was wrong to deny ticket to a person who raises his voice against the corruption.

He said that despite being the cabinet minister Saryu Rai kept raising the issues and also gave in writing to the Chief Minister.

He said that by looking at the tenure and his style of functioning the JMM is of the belief that he will be standing with the people and not bow down to emotions.

When asked whether the party will support the candidature of Mr Rai who might contest as an independent if BJP denies him the ticket to this he said that the seat is with the Congress however both the parties will decide as per the aspirations of the people of the area.

Bhattacharya claimed that the huge cash recovered from the house of the chief engineer was meant to be used in the polls.

He said that the Chief Minister should himself tell as to how the culprit was removed from his parent department and given charge of the water resources department.
