
Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that he will remain available 24 hours for the women of the state and assured that he will take all steps possible to provide them relief in case of any problem.
Addressing a gathering of the women party workers of the BJP at the Harmu Grounds here as part of Kamal Sakhi Samman Samaroh he said that the state government will also work for the safety and security of the women.
He asked the womenfolk to realise their own power and pointed the example of great martyr sisters Phulo-Jhano of Santhal Pargana who gave up their lives for protecting their language culture and traditions and they needed to adopt the same as they were not weaker but the real source of strength for the state. He said that the government wanted to make the woman part of development works.
Mr Das said that the women of the state were falling prey to malnutrition due to ignorance and said that mother nature has given the state such products through which they can keep themselves and their children healthy. He said that the government is providing Rs 6000 to pregnant women so that they can take nutritious food.
Mr Das urged the women who were present on the occasion to appraise the pregnant women in this regard so that they can take advantage of this scheme and ensure adequate nourishment of themselves and their children.
The Chief Minister said despite 70 years of Independence no one had paid attention towards the upliftment and honour of the women but after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power many steps were taken for their welfare as the Prime Minister himself had seen and lived in poverty.
He said that schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Sakhi Mandals, Sukanya Yojana, PMAY etc were started for the women in the country. He said that Jharkhand was the only state to provide free LPG stove and double refill of cylinder further under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign the state government is providing Rs 70,000 till the marriage of the daughter and through Sakhi Mandals also their economic empowerment is being ensured.
BJP’s women wing national president Vijaya Rahatkar said that Jharkhand ranked second in removing poverty in the state across the world which was mainly due to the schemes of the state government.
She said that poverty which was 70 percent before 2014 has been brought down to 46.5 percent in 2019. She said that Jharkhand was a state where women and men were working hand in hand and the state has the maximum number of beneficiaries under Ujjwala Yojana and in state property in the name of women are being registered at just Re 1.
Ms Rahatkar said eight crore farmers have been given Rs 6000 which will help in their agriculture works. She said that in 100 days the Modi government has done many works including removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and eight crore Muslim women have been made free from triple talaq. She said that women of Jharkhand are with the Chief Minister and will play their active role to ensure that the government will be back in power.
