Snake bite kills two of a family in Palamu

Daltonganj: Two people lost their lives while another one fell seriously ill after the trio were beaten by a snake in Lohadi village under Lesligunj Police Station area of this district. The victims have been identified as Birju Bhuiyaan (50) and his wife Basanti Devi (45) while their son Suresh Bhuiyaan (28).

Wife of Suresh said that her father and mother-in-law were sleeping on the ground in the night while she along with her children and husband Suresh were sleeping some distance away from them. 

She said that around midnight her husband started vomiting and when she tried to wake up her inlaws both were also found unconscious. Early in the morning, the trio was taken to the hospital where her husband and mother in law died while her father-in-law was undergoing treatment. 

Doctors at the hospital said that the people were bitten by a poisonous snake. Later the bodies were sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital.
