Body of farmers recovered from well dug under Mnrega

Ranchi: Body of a farmer was recovered from a well from Patratu village under Chanho Police Station area of this district. 

The deceased has been identified as Lakhan Mahto (40). The body of the farmer was spotted by the villagers in the morning who also alerted the police. Upon receiving information a police team reached on the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. 

Villagers said that the deceased had got constructed the well under Mnrega but was running after officials in the block office to get the money released due to which he was under mental stress. The man had gone missing from his home yesterday itself but despite search, he could not be traced. 

The body of the man was today found from the well. Police said that initial investigation reveals it to be a case of suicide, however, a post-mortem report will further confirm the details.
