Actress Femina George believes her role in the upcoming Tamil romantic entertainer ‘Haiku’ captures the timeless emotions of women, particularly their expectations of love and the qualities they seek in a partner.

Making her debut in Tamil cinema with the film, directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, Femina said the opportunity to portray an emotionally layered character made the project especially meaningful to her. The film features Aegan in the male lead, with Femina and Sridevi playing the two female leads.

“Making my debut in Tamil cinema has been a dream, and to have that opportunity with a promising film like Haiku, where I get to play a substantial and emotionally layered character, makes it even more special,” the actress said.

She explained that while social trends and women's circumstances may change over time, some fundamental emotions remain constant across generations.

“A woman’s deepest feelings, the love she hopes to receive, and what she looks for in a man have remained much the same across generations. That is what makes my character in Haiku so meaningful to me,” Femina said.

The actress also praised director Yuvaraj Chinnasamy for his sensitive portrayal of her character's emotional journey. She noted that such feelings are often explored through the perspective of women filmmakers, making the director's understanding and treatment of the character particularly noteworthy.

Femina said Chinnasamy had brought out the different emotional layers of the role while allowing the character's feelings to emerge naturally.

Expressing gratitude to the producers, director and the entire crew, she said she hoped the film would leave audiences smiling, perhaps with tears in their eyes, and with emotions that linger long after they leave the theatre.

For the actress, the real beauty of cinema lies in its ability to touch people emotionally and leave them with a sense of happiness.

‘Haiku’ has been produced by Dr. D. Arulanandhu and Mathewo Arulanandhu under the Vision Cinema House banner. Yuvaraj Chinnasamy has written and directed the film.

Besides Aegan, Femina George and Sridevi, the cast includes Adirchi Arun, Subramaniya Sethu, Adhiyaman, Mime Gopi and Indhumathi Manigandan, among others. B. Sakthivelan's Sakthi Film Factory is handling the film's release across Tamil Nadu.
