Residents of Barisom village under Pindra panchayat in Mandu block of Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district are facing considerable difficulties due to the poor condition of the road connecting the village. Potholes, loose stones and a section of the road damaged by rain have made the route hazardous, raising concerns about accidents.

The road is used by residents of both Barisom and neighbouring Basantpur village. Its deteriorating condition has made daily travel increasingly difficult, affecting routine activities and access to essential services.

The impact is also being felt at the local Anganwadi centre and middle school, where the transportation of essential supplies has become a challenge. According to villagers, vehicles carrying ration for the school's midday meal scheme are unable to reach the premises because of the damaged road. As a result, the supplies have to be carried on people's shoulders for the remaining distance, adding to the burden of ensuring that meals reach schoolchildren.

Residents have urged the concerned department and elected representatives to take immediate steps to repair the road. They say restoring the damaged stretch would improve connectivity for both villages and ensure the smoother transportation of essential supplies to local educational institutions.

With the road continuing to pose difficulties for commuters and service providers, villagers are awaiting action from the authorities to address the problem and restore safe, convenient access to their area.
