Ranchi: Anganwadi, Sahiya Workers Honoured at BJP’s ‘Aangan Milan Seva’ Event

The Bharatiya Janata Party organised an ‘Aangan Milan Seva’ programme in Mahilaung under its Seva Sankalp campaign, bringing together Anganwadi workers, Sahiya workers, mothers, children and local residents for discussions on maternal and child health, nutrition and community welfare.

Rajya Sabha MP, BJP national secretary and Uttar Pradesh co-in-charge Dr Pradeep Kumar Verma attended the programme as the chief guest. He praised Anganwadi workers, helpers and Sahiya Didis for their role in taking maternal and child health, nutrition and welfare-related services to communities at the grassroots level.

“Service means reaching the last person in society; Anganwadi and Sahiya Didis are at the forefront of this commitment,” Verma said.

Addressing the gathering, Verma said community-level workers play an important role in connecting families with health, nutrition and welfare services. He said programmes such as ‘Aangan Milan Seva’ provide an opportunity not only to recognise their contribution but also to interact directly with mothers, children and families and understand their concerns.

The programme also focused on the importance of nutrition, hygiene, maternal and child health and the overall development of children. Organisers highlighted the role of frontline workers in creating awareness among families and helping them access relevant public welfare services.

Children attending the event were provided with educational materials as an encouragement towards their studies. Anganwadi workers, helpers and Sahiya Didis were also honoured in recognition of their service and commitment at the community level.

The organisers said the interaction was aimed at strengthening awareness and community participation around health, nutrition, cleanliness and child development, while recognising the contribution of frontline workers who regularly engage with families in their local areas.

Among those present were BJP district president Dheeraj Mahto, state spokesperson Aarti Kujur, former MLA Ram Kumar Pahan, Panchayati Raj Cell state convener Jailendra Kumar, district vice-presidents Anuradha Munda and Madhuri Devi, district general secretaries Manoj Choudhary and Amit Charan, district secretary Satyajit Singh, BJP Mandal president Purushottam Mishra, Up-Pramukh Veena Devi, Mukhiya Sandeep Tirkey, former Mandal president Rajendra Mahto, Mahendra Mahto, Vikrant Tiwari and Ram Sai Munda.
