The Gumla district administration observed the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2026, with a tribute ceremony at two locations, reaffirming its commitment to public service and the ideals of the Father of the Nation.

Led by Deputy Commissioner Dileshwar Mahto, senior administrative and police officials paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at his statues located at the Indoor Stadium and the Collectorate premises.
