The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mahila Morcha in Jharkhand has a new state president, with Dr Seema Singh formally taking charge of the organisation on Saturday.

Dr Singh assumed office during a programme held at the BJP state headquarters in Ranchi. Members of the Mahila Morcha welcomed her and expressed confidence in her leadership.

After taking charge, Dr Singh said strengthening the organisation across Jharkhand would be her top priority. She thanked the central and state leadership for entrusting her with the responsibility and said she would work with sincerity, dedication and commitment to live up to their expectations.

She said issues concerning women would remain a key focus of the Mahila Morcha under her leadership. Apart from highlighting problems faced by women, the organisation would also work towards finding solutions and ensuring that their concerns receive greater attention.

Dr Singh added that issues affecting young people and the wider public would also be taken up actively by the organisation. She said efforts would be made to expand the Mahila Morcha’s presence and strengthen its organisational network across the state.

Expressing gratitude to the BJP’s central and Jharkhand leadership for the new responsibility, Dr Singh said the Mahila Morcha already had a strong organisational base in the state. She said her focus would now be on further strengthening and expanding it.

Mahila Morcha member Neetu Singh welcomed the appointment and described Dr Seema Singh’s political experience as an important asset for the organisation. She expressed confidence that the Mahila Morcha would gain further strength under the new leadership.
