Ramgarh SP Reviews Crime Situation, Directs Police to Step Up Vigilance and Speed Up Case Disposal

Ramgarh Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat on Saturday chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting with senior and subordinate police officers, assessing the overall law-and-order situation and the progress of criminal cases across the district.

During the meeting, the SP appreciated the efforts of police personnel in controlling and detecting crimes in different police station areas. At the same time, he directed officers to remain alert round the clock and maintain close supervision over criminal activities in their respective jurisdictions.

The meeting began with the SP welcoming the participating police officers, following which a detailed review was conducted on investigation, case disposal, crime prevention, pending warrants, technology-based policing and other law-and-order issues.

Key directions issued during the meeting included:

* Pending cases were reviewed category-wise, with officers directed to speed up investigations, identify and arrest accused persons and ensure timely disposal of cases.
* Cases registered and disposed of during August 2026 were reviewed, with instructions to ensure that case disposal in September exceeds the number of cases reported during the month.
* Station in-charges were directed to ensure that cases related to rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act are disposed of within 60 days.
* Passport verification was ordered to be completed and uploaded to the portal within five days.
* Officers handling complaints received through the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Dial 112 were directed to respond within nine minutes.
* Officers were instructed to submit charge sheets in pending "pocket" cases and deposit copies with the Hindi Branch.
* A review was conducted of cases expected to be disposed of during September 2026.
* Separate lists of cases pending for two, three and five years were ordered to be prepared along with the reasons for delay, followed by expedited action for their disposal.
* Police were directed to prepare details of organised criminal gangs and verify the activities of released offenders. Preventive action should be taken wherever necessary.
* Updated lists of non-bailable warrants, permanent warrants and absconders were ordered to be prepared, followed by planned and coordinated action.
* The execution of warrants, proclamations and attachment proceedings was reviewed.
* Pending court complaints received under Section 175(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) were reviewed, with directions to register cases wherever required.
* Cases involving chain, mobile phone and purse snatching were reviewed, including their detection and investigation status.
* Property-related offences and the progress of investigations into such cases were also assessed.
* Officers were instructed to verify the activities and whereabouts of known offenders.
* The functioning and disposal status of police station malkhanas was reviewed.
* Cases registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act were reviewed.
* Cases registered under the Information Technology Act were examined and necessary directions issued.
* Timely disposal of applications received through the PG Portal, CPGRAMS and the public grievance cell was emphasised.
* Entries on eDAR/iRAD were reviewed.
* The use of GANDIVA and SUDARSHAN applications provided under the NATGRID IT Solution project in criminal investigations was reviewed.
* Character and service verification cases were assessed.
* Pending CCTNS IIF forms, including IIF-1 to 6 and IIF-8 to 11, were reviewed.
