In a small but meaningful step towards environmental protection, JCI Ranchi Udaan distributed reusable steel bottles among vegetable vendors and workers at the Morabadi vegetable market (Vendor Market) in Ranchi.

The initiative was aimed at reducing dependence on single-use plastic bottles and encouraging people, particularly those working in the informal sector, to adopt more sustainable alternatives in their daily lives. Reusable steel bottles can help reduce plastic waste while also providing a durable option for regular use.

JCI Ranchi Udaan president Dr Priya Lakhotia and secretary Pooja Budhia, along with Twinkle Chhawchharia, Khushboo Bhala and Sarika Singh, personally distributed the steel bottles among vendors and workers at the market.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Priya Lakhotia said meaningful environmental change begins with simple changes in everyday habits. She said replacing disposable plastic bottles with reusable steel bottles is not only beneficial for the environment but also promotes better hygiene and long-term sustainable practices.

“Our effort is to create greater awareness about environmental responsibility and encourage more people to become part of such positive changes,” she said.

The vegetable vendors and workers welcomed the initiative and appreciated the effort to provide them with a practical and reusable alternative to plastic bottles. Many of them also pledged to make regular use of the steel bottles.

With the message of reducing plastic use and keeping the environment clean, JCI Ranchi Udaan said such community-level initiatives can help turn environmental awareness into everyday action. Even simple steps, when adopted by a large number of people, can contribute significantly to reducing plastic waste and building a cleaner and healthier environment.
