Lions Club Ghumla holds 36th installation ceremony, new committee assumes charge for 2026-27

The Lions Club Ghumla held its 36th installation ceremony on Sunday in a dignified and enthusiastic atmosphere, with the new committee for the 2026-27 session formally assuming responsibility.

The programme was presided over by club president Lion Murli Manohar Prasad, while District Governor MJF Lion Shubhra Majumdar was the chief guest.

Installing Officer PDG PMJF Lion Kamal Jain, PMJF Lion Madhav Lakhotia, MJF Lion Siddharth Majumdar, Induction Officer MJF Lion Kanchan Sahu and LSH Vice District Governor Lion Rahul Verma were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony, along with other guests and club members.

The newly elected office-bearers took the oath of office and were formally entrusted with their respective responsibilities. New members were also inducted into the club during the programme.

174 service activities conducted in 2025-26

The club also reviewed its work during the previous session. Secretary for 2025-26, Dr Shankar Lal Jajodia, presented the annual report, stating that Lions Club Ghumla had organised 174 service activities during the year.

The activities covered several areas, including education, healthcare, environmental protection, social welfare and assistance to people in need. The scale of the club’s activities drew appreciation from District Governor Shubhra Majumdar and other guests.

Addressing the gathering, Majumdar said the fundamental objective of the Lions movement is “We Serve” and that every member has a responsibility to extend service to people who need support.

She praised the Ghumla club for its active involvement in community service and encouraged the members to continue the momentum while expanding the reach of their welfare initiatives.

Installing Officer Kamal Jain congratulated the new office-bearers and reminded them that a position comes with responsibility. He said greater coordination and teamwork among members would enable the club to make an even stronger contribution to society.

The new committee for the 2026-27 session was announced during the ceremony.

New president Padam Sabu said the new team would work to further strengthen the club’s community service initiatives.

He said education, healthcare, environmental protection, assistance to needy people and social awareness programmes would remain among the team’s key priorities during the new session.

Several members played an important role in organising the installation ceremony, including installation chairperson Gulab Chandra Prasad, Master of Ceremonies Mahesh Prasad Gupta, Pawan Agrawal and hospitality chairperson Ashok Jaiswal.

First Vice President Manmohan Kesari, Damodar Kasera, Brij Kishore Shukla, Sanjay Agrawal, Banwari Agrawal, Pawan Agrawal, Mahesh Prasad Gupta, Shiv Soni, PRO Hemant Kumar, Shiv Lal, Anil Agrawal, Arun Kumar Kesari, Ashok Anand and several other members were present.

Treasurer Lion Sanjay Agrawal proposed the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the programme.

The ceremony marked the beginning of a new service year for Lions Club Ghumla, with the incoming team expressing its commitment to expanding the organisation’s work across education, health, environment and social welfare.
