Sports Provide Wings to the Dreams of Young Athletes: Sudesh Mahto

The 2nd NTPC National Ranking Archery Competition concluded with a grand ceremony at Kumar Mangalam Stadium in Sector 4, Bokaro, on Wednesday. Former Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister and AJSU Party central president Sudesh Kumar Mahto attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

Mandu MLA Nirmal Mahto, popularly known as Tiwari Mahto, former Gomia MLA Dr. Lambodar Mahto and retired judge S.K. Agnihotri were among the special guests at the event.

Organisers welcomed Sudesh Mahto with bouquets and felicitated him during the ceremony. He subsequently honoured and presented awards to the winning archers and encouraged athletes who had travelled to Bokaro from different parts of the country to participate in the national-level competition.

Addressing the players and organisers, Mahto said sport was not merely about winning competitions but about pursuing excellence through talent, determination and hard work. He said it was a matter of pride that promising archers from different parts of India had come together in Bokaro and showcased their skills.

Mahto said national-level competitions such as this provide young athletes with an important platform to test themselves against high-level competition, gain experience and improve their performance. He added that such events can also motivate youngsters to pursue sporting careers and aspire to represent the country at larger competitions.

He said Jharkhand has no shortage of sporting talent and that the key requirement is to provide young athletes with proper opportunities, training facilities, coaching, equipment and sustained encouragement.

Mahto congratulated the organisers and officials of the archery association for successfully conducting the competition. He also extended his best wishes to all participating athletes for continued improvement, future achievements and success in their sporting careers.
