Gumla Reviews Aspirational District and Block Indicators, Focus on Improving Low-Performing Areas

A monthly review meeting on the Aspirational District Programme (ADP) and Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) was held under the chairmanship of Gumla Deputy Development Commissioner Animesh Ranjan to assess progress on key development indicators set by NITI Aayog.

During the meeting, department-wise performance was reviewed, with discussions focusing on achievements, progress and areas where targets have not been met as expected. The Deputy Development Commissioner directed officials to give priority to indicators with low achievement and take immediate corrective measures to improve performance.

Ranjan stressed the need for better coordination among departments to accelerate progress in weaker-performing areas and ensure that the ????????? targets are achieved within the stipulated timelines. The meeting also reviewed the achievements of individual departments as well as their upcoming action plans.

The Deputy Development Commissioner said the objective of the Aspirational District and Aspirational Block programmes was not merely to improve the district's ranking but also to ensure that government schemes and essential services reach ordinary citizens effectively and on time.

He directed all departments to discharge their responsibilities seriously and ensure measurable results in key development sectors, including health, education, agriculture and basic infrastructure.

The meeting also placed special emphasis on the quality of data, regular monitoring and continuous assessment of progress. Officials were instructed to identify the reasons behind weak performance and take corrective measures on a priority basis.

At the same time, departments were asked to maintain the progress achieved in better-performing indicators and adopt effective practices in areas that require improvement.

The meeting was attended by the District Planning Officer and officials and personnel from the concerned departments.
