Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday met Jharkhand Congress in-charge K. Raju, state Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, along with Congress ministers and legislators, who expressed their appreciation for the state government’s recent decisions concerning students and job aspirants.
The meeting came after the special Cabinet meeting held at the Jharkhand Secretariat on August 17, 2026, during which the state government took several decisions in the interest of students. The Congress leaders welcomed the decisions and thanked the Chief Minister for what they described as a sensitive and important step towards protecting the interests of students and candidates.
The leaders said the decision to cancel examinations conducted by TDPL would provide relief to affected students and aspirants and help address the uncertainty surrounding their future. They also praised the government for giving priority to the concerns of young people.
During the meeting, the Congress representatives said that under Soren’s leadership, the state government was giving high priority to public welfare and the interests of the youth.
Responding to the appreciation, Chief Minister Hemant Soren thanked the Congress state leadership, ministers and MLAs. He said protecting the interests of Jharkhand’s students and young people remained a key priority for his government.
Soren said the government had consistently approached matters affecting the future of young people with sensitivity and seriousness and would continue to do so.
The Chief Minister also held discussions with the Congress leaders on various issues related to development projects, public welfare and student welfare in the state.
The meeting assumes significance as the state government’s recent decisions on examinations came amid a prolonged student movement over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. The government’s decision to cancel the concerned examinations is aimed at providing relief to candidates, while discussions over the broader issues surrounding the examination system continue.
