
Deoghar: The Deoghar Municipal Corporation on Friday held a meeting to review the implementation of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan's Catch the Rain campaign and chalk out a strategy for water conservation ahead of the monsoon season.The meeting was attended by Mayor Ravi Kumar Raut, Deputy Mayor Tip Chatterjee, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena, Additional Municipal Commissioner Rajneesh Kumar, ward councillors and other civic officials.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on strengthening rainwater harvesting systems across the city. It was decided that rainwater harvesting structures in government and private buildings, parks and public places would be repaired and new structures would be developed wherever necessary.Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena said water conservation has become an urgent need and called for collective efforts to make the campaign successful. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor appealed to ward councillors to create awareness among residents and encourage every household to adopt rainwater harvesting practices.The Municipal Commissioner also directed officials to regularly monitor the ongoing works and intensify public awareness campaigns across all wards of the city.
