Public Urged to Beware of Fake Social Media Messages

Deoghar. district administration has appealed to the public to remain alert against fake messages and suspicious links being circulated on social media platforms. The administration stated that if any message, link, or friend request is received on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, or any other social media platform in the name of DC Deoghar, District Administration Deoghar, or Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya, people should not trust it without proper verification.The administration said cyber crimes are increasing rapidly and social media has become one of the easiest platforms for communication and information sharing. Taking advantage of this, cyber criminals are attempting to cheat innocent people through fake profiles, fraudulent links, and misleading messages. In such a situation, citizens have been advised to remain extra cautious while using social media.

Report Suspicious Messages Immediately
The district administration further stated that if anyone receives any suspicious message, link, or request of this nature, they should immediately report the matter to the Deoghar Cyber Police Station or the nearest police station. Citizens can also lodge complaints online through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.In case of any financial cyber fraud, people have been urged to immediately contact the national cyber helpline number 1930 so that prompt action can be taken by the cyber cell.Appealing to the public to stay alert and aware, the district administration said that awareness and caution are the strongest safeguards against cyber crime.
