
Deoghar Correspondent: Police have solved the sensational murder case of a young woman whose body was recovered from the Radhiya River under the Rikhia police station area. Investigation revealed that the woman was allegedly raped and later murdered. To hide the crime and destroy evidence, the accused buried the body under sand near the riverbank. Three accused have been arrested in connection with the case.
Addressing a press conference, SDPO Kuldeep Kumar said that on May 19, 2026, police recovered a half-naked body buried under sand from the Radhiya River. The deceased was identified as 21-year-old Rinku Kumari, daughter of Parmeshwar Raut and a resident of Radhiya village. The incident had created panic and outrage in the locality, while the victim’s family demanded strict action against those responsible.Taking the matter seriously, a special investigation team was formed on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police. During the investigation, police used forensic evidence, technical inputs, and local intelligence to trace the accused. The probe revealed that the victim had gone towards the river on the evening of May 16. During that time, she was allegedly raped and later murdered. The accused first dumped the body in a nearby stream and later, fearing exposure, shifted it to the riverbank on the night of May 18 and covered it with sand.Police arrested three residents of Radhiya village Shravan Raut (27), Rahul Kumar (19), and Rawdi Devi (29). Based on their confession and identification, police also recovered the spade allegedly used to bury the body. The tool had been hidden in bushes near the riverbank.SDPO Kuldeep Kumar said the case was solved through scientific investigation and coordinated police action. Further interrogation of the accused is underway, and police are continuing investigation into other aspects related to the crime. The operation involved Rikhia police station in-charge Prabhat Kumar, members of the technical cell, and the investigation team.
