
Deoghar:The district administration has intensified preparations for the upcoming State Shravani Mela 2026 with special focus on the convenience, smooth movement and safety of devotees at railway stations. In this connection, a high-level review meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of DC Shashi Prakash Singh at the Collectorate office chamber. Officials from the railway department and district administration participated in the meeting.The meeting mainly reviewed crowd management, traffic regulation and security arrangements at Jasidih Junction, Deoghar Railway Station and Baidyanath Dham Railway Station during the mela period. The DC directed officials to work in close coordination so that devotees do not face any inconvenience during their journey.
Special Crowd Management Plan to Prevent Stampede
Keeping in mind the expected heavy rush of devotees, the DC instructed officials to prepare a strong crowd management plan at all major railway stations. He emphasized that no stampede-like situation should occur under any circumstances. Directions were issued for increased deployment of security personnel and continuous monitoring through CCTV cameras at railway premises.
Additional Ticket Counters and Special Trains Planned
To reduce long queues for ticket booking, additional ticket counters will be opened during the mela period. It was also decided that special trains would be operated from different parts of the country for the convenience of devotees visiting Deoghar during the Shravani Mela.
Medical Camps and Help Centres to Remain Active
The DC directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for waiting areas, drinking water facilities and uninterrupted power supply at all railway stations. He also instructed that 24-hour medical camps be set up at stations to handle emergency situations during the mela. Information and assistance centres will remain active to guide and help devotees.During the meeting, DC Shashi Prakash Singh instructed all concerned officials to complete every basic arrangement before the beginning of the mela so that devotees arriving in Deoghar do not face any difficulty.Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Rahul Kumar Bharti, District Sports Officer Santosh Kumar, station managers of Jasidih Junction, Deoghar and Baidyanath Dham stations, Executive Engineers of Electricity Supply and Transmission Departments, Assistant Public Relations Officer and other concerned officials.
