
Deoghar: The district police has adopted a strict approach to control crime. A monthly crime review meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of SP Saurabh, where detailed discussions were conducted on investigation, law and order, and crime control. It was clearly stated that the focus will not remain limited to disposal of cases, but will also emphasize quality investigation and ensuring maximum punishment for the accused.
Police have completed physical verification of all accused involved in property-related crimes, Arms Act, and NDPS Act cases identified over the past five years. Each accused is being verified at their residence. Based on their level of activity, criminals have been categorized into A, B, and C groups. Highly active Category A criminals are being verified weekly, Category B every 15 days, and Category C once a month. Along with this, action under CCA, relevant legal provisions, and property seizure processes have been accelerated.In cyber crime cases, police have tightened their grip. So far, eight cyber criminals have been identified and reports have been submitted to the court, and their property seizure process is underway. All police station in-charges have been directed to identify such criminals in their respective areas and ensure strict action.Keeping the upcoming Sawan month in view, the police are fully alert. Necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the festival, and continuous improvements are being made based on inputs received.In addition, emphasis has been placed on completing passport and character verification within a fixed timeline. Reviews of public welfare initiatives have also shown positive progress.
The meeting highlighted drug abuse and cyber crime as serious challenges. Recently, a large quantity of narcotics was seized and several suppliers have been identified. The SP warned that those choosing the wrong path will soon come under the grip of the law. Parents were also urged to monitor their children’s activities and contact the police if needed.Deoghar Police has reaffirmed its commitment to building a safe, drug-free, and cyber crime-free society and has appealed for public cooperation.
