Ranchi – Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu formally took charge as the new working president of the Jharkhand BJP on Friday, vowing to strengthen the organisation and serve with the spirit of a grassroots worker.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president J.P. Nadda for their confidence in him, Sahu pledged to perform his duties with “utmost dedication and humility.”
The announcement of his appointment was made earlier in the day by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh and received widespread support from leaders across Jharkhand. State BJP chief Babulal Marandi, former chief ministers Raghubar Das and Arjun Munda, MP Nishikant Dubey, and several others welcomed the decision, calling it a move that would energise the party in the state.
Sahu’s arrival at the BJP office in Ranchi turned into a celebration, with party workers bursting crackers, distributing sweets, and chanting slogans. He was felicitated by Marandi and state organisation general secretary Karmveer Singh with a shawl and bouquet.
Marandi lauded the choice, saying, “Aditya Sahu rose from the booth level to this position. His parliamentary experience and commitment will give new direction to the organisation in Jharkhand.”
In his address, Sahu stressed his identity as a worker above all else, promising to build an inclusive organisation, expose the shortcomings of the state government, and work with the cadre to ensure the return of a double-engine government in Jharkhand.
