Elderly Couple Murdered in Jharkhand’s Dumka, Daughters Critically Injured

Dumka – A brutal double murder in Sundaraplan village under Shikaripara police station in Dumka district has left a 63-year-old man and his wife dead, while their two daughters are battling for their lives.

Police said the incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Monday night, when unidentified attackers stormed the home of Saheb Hembram (63) and Mangali Kisku (60). The couple was killed with sharp weapons, while their daughters – Hiramuni (25) and Beni (17) – sustained serious injuries.

Despite her condition, Hiramuni managed to dial the emergency helpline, prompting police to rush the sisters to Phool-Jhano Medical College Hospital, where both remain critical.

Superintendent of Police Pitambar Singh Kherwar said initial findings point to the involvement of Hiramuni’s lover from Pakur district, but added that all leads are being investigated.

The killings have sparked shock and grief in the village. Police have been deployed in large numbers, and a special team has been formed to track the culprits. The SP assured villagers that those responsible would be caught and brought to justice.
