Ranchi - Ranchi’s Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Ashram witnessed a day of profound devotion and joy as devotees celebrated the birth of Bhagavan Krishna on Janmashtami. The observances began with a group meditation from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., guided by Brahmachari Haripriyananda, who also read an inspirational letter written years ago by YSS/SRF’s revered fourth president, Sri Sri Mrinalini Mataji. The letter included Paramahansa Yogananda’s timeless teaching from the Bhagavad Gita: “Sri Krishna’s message is the complete answer for every age—yoga of dutiful action, detachment, and meditation for God-realization.”
From 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the ashram echoed with devotional bhajans led by Swami Amarananda Giri and Swami Shankarananda Giri. In the evening, a three-hour meditation was conducted by YSS/SRF president and spiritual head Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri, live-streamed from Los Angeles, with heartfelt chanting by the kirtan group of YSS sannyasis joining virtually from India.
Adding to the sanctity of the occasion, an eight-hour meditation was held on August 10, giving seekers a rare opportunity to deepen their spiritual practice and connect with the divine.
