Deoghar to host Army recruitment awareness camp on October 9-10, equipment display planned

A special Army recruitment awareness camp is likely to be organised in Deoghar on October 9 and 10 to help young people understand the recruitment process, physical standards and medical requirements for joining the Indian Army.

The proposed two-day programme will also feature a free medical camp and a display of weapons and military equipment, giving participants an opportunity to learn more about the functioning and requirements of the armed forces.

The programme was discussed during a meeting chaired by Deoghar Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania with the Commanding Officer of Ramgarh Cantonment and senior Army officials.

The awareness campaign will primarily target school and college students. Officials said participants will be provided information on Army recruitment rules, physical fitness standards and medical criteria, while also being encouraged to explore careers in the armed forces.

Bhuvania assured the Army authorities that the district administration would extend the necessary support for the successful organisation of the event.

Officials from the Municipal Corporation, Health, Electricity and Education departments, along with traffic police and the concerned engineering department, were directed to coordinate arrangements for the programme.

The meeting also reviewed issues concerning ex-servicemen and their dependants. Officials discussed measures to address their grievances and facilitate easier access to medical services through the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and other facilities.

The meeting was attended by the Ramgarh Cantonment Commanding Officer, senior Army officers, a Major, District Nazarat Deputy Collector Mukesh Kumar, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi and officials from the departments concerned.
