President Droupadi Murmu to Attend AIIMS and IIT-ISM Convocations During Jharkhand Visit

Ranchi – President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Jharkhand starting Thursday. She will attend the first-ever convocation of AIIMS Deoghar as chief guest and also grace the 45th convocation of IIT-ISM Dhanbad.

According to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President will be present at the AIIMS Deoghar event on Thursday and travel to Dhanbad the following day for the IIT-ISM convocation, where she will spend about an hour. President Murmu will be the second President of India to attend the IIT-ISM convocation, following Pranab Mukherjee’s visit in May 2014.

Significant preparations are being made to ensure a smooth and secure visit. Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren are expected to accompany her.

Security and logistics teams are working in close coordination. The Dhanbad airstrip has been declared a no-flying zone from 10 a.m. Thursday to 6 p.m. Friday. Drones, hot air balloons, and paragliders will be strictly prohibited during this time.

All senior officers have been directed to be on duty, and their leaves have been canceled. Special traffic arrangements have also been implemented. Heavy vehicles will be barred from entering city limits during the President’s movement times.

President Murmu was originally scheduled to visit Jharkhand on June 10, but the trip was postponed.
