Manasa Varanasi joins Sharwanand as female lead in Sreenu Vaitla’s ‘George Krish’

Actress Manasa Varanasi has been roped in as the female lead opposite Sharwanand in director Sreenu Vaitla’s upcoming Telugu film ‘George Krish’, the makers announced on Thursday.

Manasa, who recently appeared in ‘Couple Friendly’, earned appreciation for her performance in the film, which went on to become a major success. Her role in ‘George Krish’ is also expected to be an important one, according to sources close to the project.

The film has already generated considerable interest as it marks the first collaboration between Sharwanand and Sreenu Vaitla. Sharwanand is coming off the success of his recent films ‘Nari Nari Naduma Murari’ and ‘Biker’.

The makers had announced the film’s title and release date in August with a colourful poster. The project is particularly significant for Sharwanand as he has enjoyed a strong track record with Sankranti releases. His films ‘Shatamanam Bhavati’, ‘Express Raja’ and ‘Nari Nari Naduma Murari’ all arrived during the festival season and went on to perform successfully.

Presented by ATV, ‘George Krish’ is produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments banner, with Ajay Sunkara serving as co-producer.

The film was launched with a traditional pooja ceremony. Producer Suresh Babu switched on the camera for the muhurtham shot, while MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav sounded the clapboard. Sreenu Vaitla directed the first shot.

The technical team includes cinematographer KV Guhan, music composer Anup Rubens, production designer Avinash Kolla and editor Amar Reddy Kudumula. Nandu Savirigana and Gopi Mohan have penned the script, while Kishore Garikipati is the executive producer.

In an unusual move, the makers also announced the film’s worldwide theatrical distribution network on the day of its launch. Asian Suresh Entertainments will distribute the film in Nizam, while Vaasudeva Movie Creations will handle Vizag, Vintage Creations East, Adithya Films West, Vyom Cinemas Krishna, RK Entertainments Guntur and Abhi Cinemas Nellore. VYOM Cinemas and Cinema Paradiso will handle the overseas distribution.

With the pairing of Sharwanand and Manasa Varanasi and Vaitla returning with a new project, ‘George Krish’ is shaping up as one of the Telugu films to watch out for during the upcoming festive release window.
