93 of 142 Gold Medallists at DSPMU Convocation Are Women: Governor Santosh Gangwar

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor and Chancellor of state universities Santosh Kumar Gangwar congratulated students receiving degrees and medals at the third convocation of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DSPMU), Ranchi, on Thursday, highlighting the achievements of women in higher education.

Addressing the graduating students, Gangwar said that 93 of the 142 gold medallists were women, describing it as an inspiring reflection of a changing India. He urged students to recognise their abilities, move forward with confidence and set new benchmarks of excellence.

Recalling the contributions of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the Governor said the university's namesake dedicated his life to education, national service and unity. He urged students to uphold the institution's dignity through their conduct and actions.

Referring to India's rich educational heritage, he said knowledge must promote humility, wisdom and a spirit of inquiry.

Gangwar also highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence, digital technology, biotechnology, space science and automation, urging young people to contribute to technological innovation while upholding ethics and social responsibility.

He encouraged graduates to look beyond jobs and develop entrepreneurial skills to create employment opportunities.

Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, he said today's graduates would play an important role in shaping India's future.

He urged students to remain humble in success and resilient in adversity, asking them to reflect not only on what they achieve but also on what they contribute to society.
